ID fuel line rubber hose fitting size

Hello, I am interested in using your valved fittings for a race application on my motorcycle. I am looking at using the 4 AN 21504J and 4 AN 22504. I see the AN sizes but I need to confirm that my rubber fuel line will fit on the barbed fitting. Can you confirm that the 4 AN size will fit and/or offer an alternative? My I/D hose diameter is 7.5mm or .295 inches. Thanks

Thank you for contacting us regarding our quick-connect/disconnect fluid fittings.

Based on the ID of your hose we would suggest using the -5AN hose barb instead of the -4AN, along with a hose clamp. Your new part numbers would be 21505J and 22505.

Jiffy-tite 31306 - Jiffy-tite 3000 Series Quick-Connect Fluid Fittings will this fitting work with vp-c15 fuel and q-16 fuel?

Jiffy-tite part number 31306 - Jiffy-tite 3000 Series Quick-Connect Fluid Fittings. Will this fitting work with vp-c15 fuel and q-16 fuel?

The 31306 fitting has an Fluorocarbon seal on it that will work with vp-C15 fuel. However, the Fluorocarbon seal will not work with Q-16. Since Q-16 is oxygenated we recommend using the Buna (Nitrile) seal. The part number for a Q-16 application would be 31306B.

Bulkhead fittings

Do you guys make a bulkhead quick disconnect fitting?

Unfortunately no we do not due to many bulkhead applications being too specific. What we recommend is to use a standard AN male bulkhead fitting. Then the Jiffy-tite fitting can be threaded onto this using the female AN thread adapter.

-3 BRAKE LINE DISCONNECT

IS THERE AN OFFERING FOR -3 BRAKE LINE QUICK DISCONNECTS THROUGH JIFFY-TITE? I SEE THAT A SPECIFIC SEAL WILL WITHSTAND BRAKE FLUID BUT THEN BELOW SAYS *SHOULD NOT BE USED WITH BRAKE LINES. LOOKING TO SEE WHAT IS OFFERED ONE WAY OR ANOTHER PLEASE AND THANK YOU

Thank you for your email. No, we do not currently offer a quick-disconnect that can be used on brake lines. Our parts are rated at a maximum operating pressure of 200 PSI.

I hope that answers your question. Please feel free to call 1-888-605-7788 if you should have more questions.

Thank you!

Buna-N seals

I have bought J-T 3000 series dry-break fittings with Buna-N seals. I have since decided to change fuels, to E85. Can I still use these fittings?

No, you will need our connector with the FKM seals E85 is not compatible with Buna. If you have any further questions pertaining to fluid compatibilities you can look on our web site we have a seal compatibility chart available.

Thank you

Can I use your connectors for vacuum lines?

Will the connectors interfere with the air pressures in the lines when connected? And will a valved connector stay closed when negative pressure is drawn while disconnected ?

Yes our connectors can be used on vacuum lines. I use these on my car but I use the non-valved connectors. As far as will they stay closed under negative pressure? That will all depend on how much negative pressure you are pulling. If you would like to contact us directly at 716-681-7200 we would be happy to talk about this more.

Thank you.

Jiffy-tite Quick Connects for Diesel

Will these fittings work for a diesel engine?

Jiffy-tite fittings will work with diesel fuel as long as the correct seal material is used. When running diesel fuel be sure to choose Fluorocarbon (FKM) seals for fluid compatibility.

When disconnected, is flow from both directions stopped?

I need a pair of disconnects on my 2004 Ducati ST4s ABS fuel line and because of where in the line I install them is on top of a hot cylinder, I need to make sure that when I disconnect the fittings that the flow of fuel from both disconnects is stopped. I don't need any fuel to leak onto the hot cylinder.

Our fittings are designed to stop fluid flow in both directions when disconnected. Please be aware though that unlike a “dry brake” fitting, two or three drops of fluid may be lost when disconnecting; especially when under pressure.
